The proposal of Gazi University Rectorate to open a Department of Management Information Systems and a Department of Management Information Systems within the Faculty of Applied Sciences was examined at the Higher Education Executive Board meeting dated 16.12.2020 and in accordance with the article 7 / d-2 of the Law number 2547 amended by the Law number 2880, the offer in question has been deemed appropriate.

Based on the letter of YÖK dated 18.12.2020 and numbered E-75850160-101.03.01-81627, the Department of Management Information Systems (Gazi YBS) was opened within the Faculty of Applied Sciences.

Gazi YBS was the second department opened in 2020 within the Faculty of Applied Sciences, after the Photonics department.
