In the 95th anniversary of Gazi University, the conference on "Transformation in the Entrepreneurship Ecosystem, Digital Entrepreneurship and E-Commerce" organized by our Department was held online.

The conference moderated by our Faculty Vice Dean and Department Vice President Dr. Lecturer Sami Acar, TUSIAD Board Member and TUSIAD Digital Transformation Round Table Chair Serkan Sevim, Bakiyem and Shopalm Co-Founder Selin Nizam, Marketyo Co-Founder and Ceo Özer. Fırat, Ministry of Commerce E-Commerce Department- Trade Specialist Ömer Faruk Ergün, faculty members and students attended.

Prof. Sami Acar started his speech with the words "I would like to start our online conference by welcoming you, our valuable speakers and participants, who attended our 'Transformation in the Entrepreneurship Ecosystem, Digital Entrepreneurship and E-Commerce' conference, which we organized as Gazi University, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Management Information Systems Department." . After introducing the speakers, he left the floor to the invited speakers.

TUSIAD Board Member and TUSIAD Digital Transformation Round Table Chair Serkan Sevim started his speech by stating that he is pleased to share his experiences with the youth. Touching on the subject of "Transformation in the Entrepreneurship Ecosystem", Serkan Sevim pointed out that we live in a very important period compared to previous periods, and mentioned that communication has gained a completely different dimension. Serkan Sevim said that the most important capital in entrepreneurship is knowledge. Serkan Sevim pointed out certain stereotypes such as "Nothing happens until you come to university" and said that these perceptions should be changed and awareness should be gained that there is no age for learning. Serkan Sevim emphasized the necessity of having a dream and a desire in entrepreneurship. Saying that it is necessary to think big in entrepreneurship, Serkan Sevim said that trust and work play a very important role in this process.

Selin Nizam, the Founding Partner of Bakiyem and Shopalm, talked about the development process of Bakiyem within the scope of "Digital Entrepreneurship". Selin Nizam, who said that entrepreneurship requires patience and dedication, stated that every entrepreneur should have these characteristics. Selin Nizam said that the tendency towards e-commerce has increased during the pandemic process and that they have established a new company targeting individual salespeople, taking this into account.

Marketyo Co-Founder and Ceo Özer Fırat started his speech by saying that behind the success stories is the experience they learned from failure. After pointing out that motivation is an important factor when it comes to "Digital Entrepreneurship", Özer Fırat talked about the importance of academic knowledge and practical knowledge having an equivalent progress. Fırat mentioned that it is necessary to develop field knowledge at this point and said that scaling is more effective than ideas in entrepreneurship.

Ömer Faruk Ergün, Ministry of Commerce E-Commerce Department- Trade Expert, stated that the Law No. 6563 on the Regulation of Electronic Commerce within the scope of "E-Commerce" has been in effect since 2015 and that they continue to work on this law. Ömer Faruk Ergün talked about the harmonization studies they carried out within the scope of “E-Commerce”. Ömer Faruk Ergün said that the use of "E-Commerce" has increased with the pandemic process and in which sectors these increases occur more.
